Sweet wedding story alert! Julia and Bard, were married on his parent’s beautiful property in Morristown, New Jersey, which also used to belong to his grandparents and was where his parents tied the knot thirty years prior. The fact that this adorable duo decided to continue the tradition completely melted our hearts and the details are just the icing on the wedding cake. Their day was filled with pretty peonies from Blooms at the Hills and a celebration of love under a tent complete with crystal chandeliers, white folding chairs and a large dance floor that had guests dancing the night away with music provided by Elegant Ensembles. Take it from us, you’re going to love this wedding and we’re so excited to share our favorite moments, beautifully captured by Studio A Images below.
From Studio A Images…Julia + Bard’s Morristown backyard wedding was one of the most emotion-filled weddings I’ve had the chance to photograph. Yes, most weddings are full of loving feelings and heartfelt sentiments for both the couple and the guests present for the nuptials – Julia + Bard’s faces reflected their emotions from start to finish. Feelings of glee over an adored wedding dress (any request to have Julia twirl around in it was met with an ear-to-ear smile), to tears and laughter during the toasts, to tender moments on the dance floor as Bard’s sister sang for the mother-son dance – the emotions of the day were evident everywhere you turned. It was an honor to be a part of their amazing celebration.
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We had our wedding on Bard’s parents’ property, which used to belong to his grandparents and was where his parents were married thirty years ago. It was wonderful to continue this tradition in such a beautiful space.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
We held the ceremony and reception outside in a beautiful garden, so we kept the decorations to a minimum. All we added was the reception tent and flowers!
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
Our family and friends made wonderful toasts, both at the rehearsal dinner and at the reception. We felt so loved!
