Jess and Chris’s wedding is bursting at the seams with boho rustic elegance. Think succulents, dreamy BHLDN bridesmaid dresses in the perfect shade of rose, wine barrels, lanterns and of course a picture-perfect locale to host their I Do’s. Not to mention, we just can’t get enough of the bride’s wedding day look featuring a lovely, lace Claire Pettibone gown and boho flower crown headpiece. Luckily, Limelight Entertainment was behind the lens and is sharing all the pretty details from this New Jersey summer wedding at Valenzano Winery below.
From Limelight Entertainment…If you are looking for a unique, vineyard wedding and are in need of some ideas, look no further. Jess + Chris’s wedding at Valenzano Vintner’s Pavilion lent the perfect backdrop for their wedding photography and all of their fun and unique ideas. Jess wanted succulents everywhere and Couture Events of NJ did not disappoint! They did such an amazing job bringing Jess’s vision to life. Succulents accented the tables capes, the arbor, and all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. This was the perfect setting for a start of the summer wedding! The sun was setting as Jess and Chris took their first dances and cut their cake. Then we snuck them back out to the vineyard for some sunset photos. It was so beautiful! The bridal party introductions set the tone for the entire evening. You could tell that this group was ready to party. Their introductions were some of the best intros ever. Jess and Chris had a family friend play saxophone along with our Limelight Entertainment DJ’s mixing songs and that really got the crowd amped. They danced and sang the night away with all of their favorite people. It was a really great night.
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We wanted a boho/rustic inspired wedding. We also wanted succulents to play a large part in the decor. We chose colors that would compliment one another. Rose quartz was the color the bridesmaids wore and light sharkskin blue was the groomsmen color. The colors worked great together and tied in the natural/pastel look we were going for.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
My florist decorated my arbor, wine barrels, centerpieces, bouquets, and flower crown with a beautiful assortment of succulents and flowers. He wired succulents into the arbor and it came out amazing. Everything he did he incorporated succulents which was what we wanted. For the table cloths and napkins we chose a simple white color with a burlap runner because we didn’t want to take away from the colors in the centerpieces. It made for a very rustic/clean look. I also had them tie the napkins with twine and put a fresh piece of rosemary in them. It looked and smelled great! Log slice table numbers also added to our rustic look. We used lanterns with fairy lights in them to line the aisle. All of the colors were pastel/neutral colors. We use a wine barrel to hold our escort cards. This was totally DIY. We bought sod ourselves and cut it to the exact dimension of the top of wine barrel. We stuck toothpicks into wine corks and cut a slit in them to hold the escort cards. They were stuck into the sod toothpick end down and came out amazing.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
My most anticipated moment was right after we kissed for the first time as husband and wife and looking back into the crowd to see all of our loved ones smiling back at us. Walking back down the aisle to one of our favorite songs by Twiddle was an amazing feeling also. Our first dance was to a Phish song called Strange Design and that was one of our favorite moments as well.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We had a saxophone player come and play a set of 6 songs with the DJ and it made for a great dance party. We also brought inflatable instruments and glow sticks that the guests loved. One of our favorite parts was the smores being buttlered around with shooters of milk or rumchatta/fireball. It was perfect since we had several fire pits and the guests loved it.
