When you’re a wedding photographer by trade, you can pretty much guarantee you’re going to end up with the most incredible wedding portraits. Don’t believe us? Well, then you’re just going to have to dive right into Yumi and Eric’s wedding gallery brought to us by Jennifer Larsen Photography. Yumi made the most beautiful bride donning a ball gown designed by Amsale with sweetheart neckline, shirred bodice, and hand-pleated taffeta floral embroidery over the skirt. The groom wore a striking navy number with bow tie, which perfectly complemented the florals (hello, king protea!) and soft color palette. Our favorite part, though, was how a little rain didn’t stop this couple from having the best day ever at The DeBruce overlooking the Willowemoc Valley in upstate New York’s Catskill Park, complete with the most magical rainbow we’ve ever seen. From Jennifer Larsen Photography…This gorgeous fall wedding is a reallllllly special one, so get ready! My sweet friend and this stunning bride, Yumi, is absolutely amazing. She is a talented photographer (check her work out here) and one of my go-to second photographers, so I get to work with her a bunch while shooting weddings. This time, though, I got the opportunity to be a part of HER big day and photograph her and Eric tying the knot at The DeBruce in New York!
Yumi and Eric are so easygoing and joyful. They were literally up for anything. We had the craziest weather –a rainy day that turned hot and sunny, turned cold and windy, and then back to sunny, then cloudy, and rainy again, and so on… it was nuts! And somehow, none of it fazed these two in the slightest! We got SO many portraits with all of the varieties of weather imaginable including the MOST beautiful, brightest rainbow I have EVER seen in my life. Seriously, it was magical. I may or may not have pulled Yumi and Eric away from the adorable VW Bus photobooth just to snap a few pictures of them with it, because seriously…it was unbelievable. Thankfully, they were down to slow dance, run, and smooch in the rain underneath the most gorgeous rainbow. All my photographer dreams came true.
I can’t even begin to mention ALL my favorites from this day, because there are too many. But just to highlight a few in addition to the whimsical rainbow, the emotional outdoor ceremony, the incredible florals, Yumi’s second outfit – a gorgeous romper she changed into during the reception, and all the little details that made this day perfect for Yumi & Eric.
