There’s no doubt that winter weddings are magical here in the Garden State, especially when they take place at the dreamy Park Chateau Estate and Gardens. This romantic wedding captured through the lens of Nicole Klym Photography is no exception. Think deep burgundy jewel tones, velvet, textured lace, and the perfect amount of sparkle. From Nicole Klym Photography…Kristen was a bride who cared about every detail and liked to plan ahead, which I appreciate as the Type A photographer I am. I knew that with all the preparation involved, and Kelly of Gifted Events by my side, Kristen and Tyler’s wedding was going to run smoothly, allowing them to enjoy every moment. Their day at the Park Chateau Estate was the perfect combination of romantic, formal and fun. They lucked out with unseasonably warm weather for February, which made things easier on the wedding party for all the outdoor photos we took on the stunning property. The events started with a sweet and lighthearted ceremony in the chapel on site. After an extravagant cocktail hour, the reception began with some heartfelt toasts before kicking off a full evening of non-stop partying. The DJ (Dash of Class Platinum) provided some live musicians who really got the guests involved on the dance floor. There was no shortage of great moments to capture!
Tyler wanted our day to be everything I had ever dreamed of. I really wanted a warm, romantic feel for the evening. I knew that numerous candles and lots of greenery with soft pops of color was what I envisioned. With the help of Pinterest, I was able to help bring all of the pieces of the day together. My bridesmaids decided on a burgundy velvet dress that was so elegant and stunning on each of them! The colors we incorporated throughout the day were ivory, cream, blush, champagne, rose gold, and burgundy.
I wanted something that I would not only be comfortable in but felt like a princess in as well. I tried to keep an open mind and tried on all styles. However, I was adamant against a strapless dress; I was fearful it would be falling down the entire day. When I went to Klenfield for my appointment, my consultant, Rosaria (who was incredible by the way) encouraged me to try my dress on. It was a strapless, Danielle Caprese gown, that was exclusive to Kleinfeld. It had a blush underlay, beautiful champagne and ivory tones with the perfect amount of lace detail and beading. I stood in the mirror staring at myself wondering if it could be the one. Once they put the veil on me to complete the look, my eyes welled up and I knew that was it. I did not have that reaction any other time! Tyler is very easy going and wanted to wear what I thought would look best. Since our venue was formal, and my dress had a classic feel, he felt he should stay timeless in his attire as well. He decided on a black tuxedo, with a black vest, and bow tie.
Flowers were a big part of the day. For myself, I wanted a garden style boutique with seeded eucalyptus as well as blush and ivory garden roses. My bridesmaids carried a similar boutique to mine however, they had a pop of burgundy included in theirs. Both of my moms carried a small ivory boutique, and the men had ivory garden roses, with seeded eucalyptus added to Tyler’s. I also wanted something that was captivating but not overpowering as soon as guests walked in. We chose to decorate the stairs with greenery, ivory hydrangeas along with blush and ivory garden roses partially up the staircase. This theme then went throughout the venue to decorate the mantles along with floating monet candles. The ceremony space was decorated with candles along the aisle, ivory rose petals, and two large arrangements on columns on either side of the altar. In the reception, there were both high and low arrangements to add dimension to the room with ivory hydrangeas, blush, ivory, and burgundy garden roses with pops of greenery.
We both love to dance and have fun, so entertainment was something that was important for us. We decided to incorporate a live percussionist and saxophone player into our reception and we are so glad we did! This added an incredible element that everyone enjoyed! It is really difficult to pick a favorite part! If you ask Tyler, he will say his favorite parts were our first dance, and cocktail hour. I honestly enjoyed all of the day. I loved spending quality time with our family and friends. If I had to pick one, I would say it was our first look which helped to alleviate any and all nerves!
The most anticipated moment of our wedding day was definitely our first dance. We had our first dance choreographed since our friend gifted some of her dance lessons to us which was so thoughtful. This was a fun process for us, and we enjoyed the lessons each week leading up to the wedding. It was exciting to share that special moment together!
