A Feminine Bridal Shower at Charlies of Bay Head by Jill Lynn Photography
This bridal shower is giving all the feminine, girly, soft, coastal, and PINK vibes from the soft pink deckled invitation to the pink florals, gold accents, and bow motif. But what we love most is the nostalgia and subtle ways this bride-to-be incorporated intentional details that truly touched our hearts. From the bride-to-be…My mom hosted the shower for me. I gave a thank you speech to my Mom at the end of the shower to thank her for not only the most amazing shower but the past 33 years! My parents love story began at the Jersey shore so it has always been a special spot for our family. When my Mom met my Dad she nicknamed him “Mr. perfect” because she couldn’t find anything wrong with him. I told my Mom at my shower that I have in fact found my very own “Mr. perfect.” And I can’t wait to continue to make her proud in this next chapter of my life- a wife. Glenn’s wife!
THE INSPIRATION
My bridal shower was held on June 1, 2024 at Charlie’s of Bay Head in Bay Head, NJ. The venue itself is a beautiful restaurant on the water. My goal was for the shower to be a pink coastal girly day filled with champagne, hydrangeas, lobster rolls, bows, and florals.
THE GUEST LIST
All my closest friends and family! Sadly, my dog Cheddar couldn’t be there- but we had cookies with his face on it that were also a hit with guests!
THE DECOR
The decor kept with our coastal New England vibe that we are planning for the wedding. However, since it’s was a bridal shower- I wanted this event to explode with femininity. I had a lot of pink and florals! Every place setting was complete with a bow! My invites tied in with the “theme”- pink envelope and a bow. When guests sat down at their seat they were greeted by a “message from the bride to be” instead of a menu. I wanted to express all the gratitude I had for people traveling to my first love- the Jersey shore. There was no where else I imagined starting this next chapter of my life. most importantly, there was no one else I imagined celebrating with than everyone at my bridal shower!
SOMETHING SENTIMENTAL
I lost my father 7 years ago and I knew he had to be incorporated in the day! “love always” was is his handwriting from a card he wrote me once and we attached it my floral backdrop. My mom surprised me with two gifts: something borrowed- a tennis bracelet my father had given her when I was born. A new bracelet with a diamond from his wedding band. I don’t think there was a dry eye.
LOOKING AHEAD
I am just still so overwhelmed by all the love I felt at my bridal shower. I can’t even imagine how I am going to feel at the wedding! The shower was very much a girls day! As I said- I wanted the day to feel very feminine but for the wedding it will truly be a day for Glenn and I. There will be a lot less pink but the love will still be evident and palpable. We are so blessed with amazing family and friends.
