From the bride…Raymond and I met five years ago. I was out to brunch at the Turning Point with my mom and Ray was actually my waiter. We flirted a lot and my mom kind of forced me to leave my name and number on the check. Exactly three days later he called and we went on one date. We naturally fizzled out and life took us in different directions. Fast forward two years and we ran into each other. We went on another date and the rest was history.
Why did you choose this location to host your ceremony and reception?
When we walked into South Gate Manor we were blown away. It is very different from your typical ballroom and we loved they offered only one wedding at a time. The attention to detail made us really fall in love with this facility. Matthew took us and our mothers around and really gave us an experience.
Tell us about your Eve of Milady gown and your experience of finding “the dress.”
It was the first and only gown I tried on. It featured a full skirt with hand beaded corset top. I immediately knew it was my gown.
What about your bridesmaid dresses?
My six bridesmaids wore long, black sweetheart strapless dresses by Bill Levkoff.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding?
I wanted a wedding that I wouldn’t look back on one day and say why did I choose this or that. I took aspects that never go out of style and spun them with my own personality. The inspiration was classic with a color scheme of black and white with a touch of baby pink.
