We absolutely LOVE this whimsical summer wedding captured through the lens of CWM Vendor, Nicole Klym Photography! So much so, that this darling duo landed on the cover of the Spring/Summer 2018 print edition of Contemporary Weddings Magazine. A pretty pastel color scheme, the elegance of the Windsor Ballroom, the sweetest first look, and a show-stopping Morilee ball gown, are just a few details you’ll find when scrolling through this picture-perfect wedding below.
From the bride…Believe it or not, Jason and I are middle school sweethearts! We met in 6th grade homeroom and started officially dating that summer at the Fourth of July fireworks. Little did we know that we would spend the next 12 years together. Despite going to different high schools and colleges, we stayed together the whole time. We had pictures documenting our relationship as a slideshow displayed for guests to see during the reception.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding?
We fell in love with the design and colors of our invitations and used that as a basis for our wedding. It was a whimsical look with florals while remaining modern and elegant. The color scheme was sage with hints of peach and pink.
Did you have a first look?
We felt strongly about it just being the two of us at our first look (no parents or bridal party) so we could have an intimate and private moment together. It created a judgement-free zone where it was okay to cry, laugh, hug, and kiss without a crowd watching. We also wanted to take most of the pictures prior to the wedding so that we could enjoy cocktail hour and the reception. It worked out perfectly.
What made you choose the Windsor Ballroom for your ceremony and reception?
It was very important for us to have our ceremony at the same location as our reception. We’ve been to weddings where the ceremony is at a church and we found that a lot of people don’t go to the ceremony and only to the reception. We felt that since the ceremony is when you say your vows and become one, we wanted everyone there for it. We also knew we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony. Windsor Ballroom had a large courtyard that was beautifully landscaped and could accommodate our number of guests.
What was your favorite memory of the day?
My favorite memory of the day was our first look. It was extremely difficult for me to refrain from showing pictures of my gown and veil, as well as pictures from my hair and makeup trial, so this was just a big moment for me. Since it was just the two of us, and of course our photographers, at our first look, it was a very intimate moment. Jason’s reaction when he turned around and saw me for the first time was everything I hoped it would be.
