At first glance, you never would have thought this wedding took place at the end of March in the middle of winter. Krissy Breece Photography beautifully captured this couple and was able to add so much warmth through her bright and airy style with the slightest touch of golden hour. Add in romantic florals with tons of greenery for an organic look, a stunning lace Allure Bridal gown, a lovely color palette, and a picturesque locale overlooking the water. This gallery is wedding goals and we’re sharing all the details below. From the bride…We really wanted whimsical, and to do something that wasn’t really done before. You see so many weddings that everyone copied from pinterest and I wanted ours to stand out. We went with cobalt for the guy’s suits, cognac shoes, grey for the girls and pops of blush and maroon.
Did you have a first look?
When we first got engaged, I was really against the first look. I wanted the first time he saw me to be walking down the aisle. Then when we really got to thinking, we were like “Hey, we are paying for this wedding ourselves, lets do the first look so we can actually enjoy the cocktail hour that we are paying for!”
What style dresses did your bridesmaids wear?
Jenny Yoo – the “Annabelle” in Shadow Grey. Tight around the bust with a flowy, tulle bottom. The girls had the option to wear this dress however they were most comfortable.
Tell us about your experience of finding your dream wedding gown.
I really am a one-stop-shop girl. I like to make my decision and not “sleep on it” and come back 50 times. I was between two dresses and I made the decision that first day I tried on. My sister talked me into it! I was going for something more conservative and comfortable, and she told me “get something that people don’t expect to see you in” and I was so glad I went with her decision. My dress was a fully lace and beaded ivory gown from Allure Bridals. It was super fitted with a slight a-line at the bottom right after my knee. The top was an illusion as if it was sheer and I had no straps. The back was mesh with buttons going from the top of my neck to the bottom of the train.
Tell us about your first dance.
Our first dance was such a special moment. We wanted a song that was not common and something that we both loved. We chose “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure and the band slowed it down for us.
