Today’s wedding brought to us by Heyn Photography is straight out of a fairytale. Think Princess and the Frog meets Cinderella with touches of Rapunzel. After finding her prince charming, visions of whimsy romance danced in her head. And we must say, this bride completely nailed the vibe she was going for. From her ethereal ball gown designed by Morilee to the lakefront setting of The Estate at Farrington Lake and classic color scheme, there’s so much to love in this wedding gallery. From Heyn Photography…Malia and Alex’s wedding at the Estate at Farrington Lake was truly a magical day. Our bride looked like a real-life princess in her gorgeous ballgown dress. We started the day in the newly renovated bridal cottage while everyone got ready. The maid of honor, Stacey Stratton was also one of our stylists for the day and our bridesmaids looked like they stepped out of a movie. The gorgeous natural light in the cottage gave us the perfect place to capture some truly elegant bridal portraits. Outside, there is a picturesque path overlooking the lake that which we scouted as the perfect spot for shooting our couple’s first look. When Alex was finally allowed to turn around and see his bride, he was blown away by how beautiful Malia looked. We spent some time out on the path and in the woods with our couple and then with the bridal party. Malia and Alex’s sweet boxer, Lola even joined in for some photos. The impressive trees provided the perfect backdrop to this fairy tale wedding. The rain clouds held off for the lovely outdoor ceremony. Our newlyweds exchanged heartfelt vows that even got us a little teary-eyed. The perfect sunlight filtered through the trees as the ceremony ended and the cocktail hour began. As twilight set in, we stole Malia and Alex away to the lake where they released some Chinese lanterns which were especially sentimental because this is how Alex proposed to Malia. We felt like we were in the movie “Tangled”. Then we headed inside for the reception which was an absolute blast thanks to Tony from SCE event group. Nobody left the dance floor all night except to toast and eat cake. We headed back outside for our night shots, where we continued with our “Tangled” theme. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to the perfect fairy tale day. Malia and Alex were so lovely to work with and we wish them a happily ever after.
I am a big believer in fairytales and Alex actually proposed by putting lanterns all over our house because my favorite movie is Tangled. So knowing I had found my Prince Charming, I wanted to incorporate some of that into our wedding day. I also love black, gray and gold and how classic it is so my bridesmaid dresses were black and our bouquets were white with some greenery. I specifically wanted peonies and there were roses included as well. I think the backdrop of the forest at our venue really made the day and photos magical.
I love peonies so they were my flower of choice. We stuck with white flowers and greenery to match the venue. We had flowers decorating the aisle as well as the pergola where we got married. We had flowers and petals incorporated into the centerpieces on the tables. I made personalized signs and stickers for everything. We also love our dog Lola dearly and she was a part of our wedding. So we gave out dog and cat treat bags for everyone to take home to their furry friends. We chose lanterns as our favors to tie into the Tangled theme. We also incorporated floating candles in our floral centerpieces to add to the effect. I made all the signs and favors and treat bags.
