A MICRO BACKYARD WEDDING BY FOX PHOTOGRAPHY
Jackie and Hutton have DeSales University to thank for bringing them together. They supported each other throughout college and cheered each other on at lacrosse games and dance shows. “I like to think we broadened each other’s horizons through performance arts and sports,” Jackie shared. The night of the engagement started with a dinner date in Belmar, New Jersey. Jackie even jokingly asked Hutton if he was going to propose as she was getting into the car. Following what Jackie said felt like the longest dinner ever, they went for a walk on the beach. As they were taking in the view, Jackie turned to find Hutton down on one knee. “I was so surprised and happy!” Continue reading below for more details from this waterside micro backyard wedding captured through the lens of Fox Photography.
From Fox Photography…The 2020 Covid 19 pandemic experience has been a true test of love for engaged couples who had weddings planned this year. It has genuinely made a major impact on the wedding industry, from the vendors to the clients. The stress of the restrictions, masks, social distancing and closures, losing jobs and lack of funds, cancellations and rescheduling issues, and the overall fear of getting the virus has taken a true toll on us all. New Jersey especially was hit hard with the virus and restrictions. Engaged couples had to make some hard decisions and changes regarding their wedding celebration.
Jackie and Hutton’s wedding day might not have gone exactly as they anticipated, and they even had to re-plan almost everything. Despite the setbacks and COVID-19 restrictions, the couple rolled with the punches, and their wedding day ended up being imperfectly perfect with a small Catholic church ceremony and mass, followed by a micro wedding overlooking the Manasquan River at Jackie’s parents’ home in Brick, NJ.
The bride decided not to hire a wedding planner, but many of her family and friends helped with details and decorating. Shades of ivory, beige, green, and terra cotta mixed with velvet, dried flowers, and seashells made their fall-at-the-beach wedding come to life. On the reception tables were ivory linens with centerpieces made of dried eucalyptus and bunny tails, with seashells at the bottom of each vase surrounded by candles and a disposable camera for guests to capture moments through their perspective.
The groom is an ice-cream connoisseur, so they knew they needed to incorporate this favorite sweet treat into their wedding day. Lexylicious delivered with a late-night snack, serving up gourmet ice-cream sandwiches including chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough, and mint chip on various flavored cookies.
