From Nicole Klym Photography…Based on Carla and Andy’s great taste, I knew going into their wedding that it would be full of amazing details.  After they each got ready, they had a private first look in front of The Hamilton Manor’s barn.  We had excellent fall weather for exploring Sayen Gardens for portrait time with their wedding party before their outdoor ceremony on the venue’s lawn.  The Hamilton Manor ballroom is one of my favorites to photograph a reception in, with their tall ceilings full of bright colorful lighting.  The Benjamins put on a great party, keeping Andy and Carla’s guests out of their seats, singing and dancing all night long.  You didn’t want the night to end!  But when it did, what’s a better finale to a party than a fresh pork roll sandwich from the Johnny’s Pork Roll truck on your way out?

Tell us about your wedding. What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style, or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
Our wedding day was everything we ever dreamed of and so much more! The Hamilton Manor provided a unique theme – it was rustic yet romantic and had a jaw dropping ballroom that we instantly fell in love with. I always wanted to get married in the fall and from the start had a dusty purple color scheme in my head, which we paired with gray (both of our favorite colors). My parents are from Italy and my dad makes homemade wine — a yearly tradition. We decided to do a wine blending ceremony where I poured my Dad’s red wine and Andy poured his favorite white. We plan to drink it on our 1st anniversary!

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
I went wedding dress shopping once and found my dress on the seventh try! I knew I wanted a Stella York dress because I love her romantic and whimsical style. I also knew I wanted a detailed back. My dress, style 6238, was fit and flare with embroidered lace. It had beading at the waist, lace shoulder straps and a band of sheer lace on the back. I had a chapel length veil with lace details and my something borrowed was my sister’s hair piece from her wedding. It was one of my favorite accessories. Andy opted for suits instead of tuxedos. Everyone wore gray suits and white shirts, with matching brown belts and shoes. Andy learned how to tie his own bow tie for the day of the wedding!

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
The Hamilton Manor is a truly beautiful venue and didn’t need much as it shines all on its own. From the dark hardwood floors to the amazing chandelier; we didn’t need much to make the space amazing. We used their candelabras and worked with our florist to create breathtaking centerpieces. Our vision truly came to life!

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
The florals were to-die-for. My florist, Nicole Kramer and I sat down and decided we would go for fun, organic and colorful bouquets for both the bridesmaids and I then weave that in to the venue by adding them everywhere from the centerpieces, ceremony, seating card table, and even the cake. She did an amazing job of capturing exactly what I was dreaming of- I wish I could keep my bouquet forever!

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
The most anticipated and special moment of the wedding day was our first look. I felt like once we saw each other the day could really get started. It was a very special moment that we took for just the two of us and photographer, Nicole Klym. The Hamilton Manor has these gorgeous barn doors which made for the perfect backdrop and I couldn’t wait to see Andy for the first time!
