For ALL Couples Getting Married

Today we’re taking a trip down to St. Pete’s beach for a tropical boho beach wedding captured through the lens of Andrejka Photography. Spoiler alert! It’s a coastal celebration filled to the brim with all the tropical details that is sure to have you smiling from ear to ear. Think bright blooms with lots of greenery, palm fringes, pineapples, and flamingos, all under a setting with no shoes required. Take a peek at all the pretty wedding inspiration below.

From Andrejka Photography…Brenna and Mitch met during their freshman year of college in 2010. When Mitch initially asked Brenna to be his girlfriend, she said no. After some persistence and carefully planned dates, it was clear that they were in love and when he her asked a second time, she said yes! Fast forward 7 years later when Mitch proposed to Brenna at the Golden Gate Bridge. This was the start of an amazing trip down California’s Pacific Coast Highway and the start of their wedding planning.

Brenna is a lover of the ocean and has always dreamed of a barefoot ceremony on the beach. After touring Hotel Zamora, she and Mitch knew right away this would be the perfect spot for the reception. They planned the ceremony down the road at their favorite beach, Pass-A-Grille Beach, St. Pete Beach, FL, voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. The couple exchanged vows on the beach under a breezy bamboo arbor set against the muted tones of the sand, sea, and sky. Instead of doing a typical “sand ceremony” with different colors of sand, in the middle of the ceremony they each bent down and grabbed a handful of sand to place in a small container. That way they will always have these special grains of sand from a most special spot.

Brenna and Mitch incorporated several elements to achieve a tropical, boho beach wedding. Instead of shoes, she wore 2 shell anklets. Guests were invited to shed their shoes and go barefoot on the beach (note the cute sign). Birds of paradise and hot pink flowers, a special palm printed ring box, and pineapples and palm fronds as centerpieces at the reception all established the tropical theme. The custom invitations and signage by watercolorist Crystina from The Messy Painter set the tone before guests even arrived. Brenna’s vibrant, tropical bouquet popped against the white lace of her Emmy Mae Bridal dress. In keeping with the boho look, she chose to wear a flower garland in her hair in lieu of a veil. The soft floral patterns of her individually selected bridesmaids dresses from Plum Pretty Sugar melded perfectly with the white and cream color scheme of the groomsmen.

Brenna and Mitch wanted the day to be a fun celebration with their family and friends. Much of the joy of the day derived from the many ways that their guests contributed to and participated in the event. At the end of the ceremony every guest went to the water’s edge and threw a stone for “good luck” along with a blessing performed by the officiant. Brenna’s turquoise necklace was handmade by friend Leah Garand of Sulphur Springs Jewelry It went down her back as well as her front. The cornhole games at the reception were painted by friend Jamie Jones.

From taking a trolley along the beach to the reception and dancing on the rooftop of the Hotel Zamora as the sun set over the Gulf, Brenna and Mitch infused each moment of their day with tropical fun and stunning beauty. As Brenna writes, “After an absolutely gorgeous day surrounded by friends, family, and a few tears of joy, we were happily married and excited to embark on the next chapter of our lives.” It’s a good thing Brenna finally said yes!
