You heard it here first! With more and more couples hosting intimate elopements or micro weddings this year, we think we’re going to be seeing a surge in bohemian design. This style lends an effortless, casual look with fun, festival vibes! Think macrame, lace, pampas grass, desert hues, lots of texture, and patterns. And, of course a backyard bohemian soiree isn’t complete without a vintage VW photo bus! From GEM Photography…Sarah, the planner and designer behind Brehant Creations Events wanted to showcase a fabulous elopement that wasn’t about the location but was instead about the design. We wanted to show that you can in fact create the wedding of your dreams in your own backyard or at a super unexpected location! Elopements don’t have to mean going to a stunning location on the top of a mountain to get married!
Pencil and Ink designed custom invitation suites that were perfect for the retro style, including handmade fringes and tassels! It was so unique and amazing and designed with so much love. We had a custom backdrop created by the venue owner, Over AndOver made of reclaimed doors and wood. Brehant Creations Events was inspired by boho 70s style retro and kept the theme throughout in the details of the VW bus photobooth, sweetheart table, backdrop and lounge area! The furniture was all reclaimed furniture by Over AndOver. The lounge included retro, refinished furniture, a sweetheart cake by AJ Marie Bakery and a retro sign by Soul Crafted Letter with a Beatles lyric perfectly hand painted on it.
ThistleRose Bridal styled the brides in private label collections. Tracy’s gown was a fitted sheath gown that hugged the body, lined with a comfortable nude jersey fabric and a low illusion back that fit Tracy perfectly and comfortably!
Earth Blossoms Flowers created soft, boho wildflower magic with an array of textured flowers including Toffee Roses, Pampas Grass, Calendula, Feverfew, Peonies, Strawflower, Yarrow, Craspedia and Bleached Ruscus. She designed jaw dropping installations for the backdrop and the VW bus as well as bouquets and arrangements for the sweetheart table and lounge. The musicians from Divina Artisti played beautiful melodies and serenaded everyone with their incredible instruments!
Fizzy Memories, a newly renovated VW photobooth, called Wanda, made its debut and was perfectly styled by the owners Chelsea and Nicole. It was the perfect addition and added to the jaw dropping retro vibe of the day.
