A Liberty State Park Engagement Session with NYC Skyline Views

Liberty State Park is a locale we often see for engagement settings and it is easy to see why. There’s quite a few backdrop options for variety, one of our favorites being those iconic NYC skyline views. Before you schedule an engagement session in Liberty State Park, take a peek at Cristina and Bryan’s engagement session captured by Nicole Klym Photography. They completely nailed their session and even included their dog in some of the photos! See it all below.

From Nicole Klym…I had such a great time getting to know Cristina and Bryan at their engagement session.  I even got to meet Cristina’s mom and their dog Moose, who joined in for some of their photos.  Their personalities really shined during their shoot.  Bryan kept Cristina laughing the whole time, which I always appreciate because it brings out a real genuine smile.  I also love when clients incorporate meaningful locations into their engagement sessions.  Cristina and Bryan chose the location of Liberty State Park, since they visited a restaurant there to celebrate their engagement.  We had great spring weather the night of their shoot, and stayed at the park until sunset to take in the beautiful New York City skyline!

Bryan and I actually connected online, but we had friends who had actually known one another in the past, so we both figured it was safe (haha). After meeting, we had our first official date at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Bryan proposed the morning of my 30th birthday at our apartment. He knew it was important to me that he proposed somewhere meaningful and with no one else around. This was our first home and we had only a few short weeks left there until we moved into the house we had purchased during quarantine. I had started the morning a bit upset because I had booked my birthday dinner reservation for the wrong date (not sure how I did that), but it all worked out in the end. I was completely SHOCKED! Best birthday ever!

Our engagement session was such a fun time. We were so excited that we got to include our dog, Moose. Mr. Moo was definitely more concerned with the people riding their bikes, but Nicole was amazing and was able to get some great shots with him included.

Bryan picked out the ring himself after I told him the style I liked. He went to design the ring and got some input from my best friend. He got the ring from our jeweler who I consider to be an aunt to me, so he DEFINITELY had a lot of guidance and help. I knew I wanted a classic and simple style, so I told Bryan I liked a round cut with a thin band.
