A Classic Ballroom Wedding at Nanina’s in the Park

A CLASSIC BALLROOM WEDDING AT NANINA’S IN THE PARK BY KERI CALABRESE PHOTOGRAPHY

Jennifer made the first move when she swiped right on William’s profile. The two got to know one another for a week before meeting in person at Midland Brew House. Although Jennifer was super nervous, they hit it off and turned out to be the perfect match. The day William proposed, Jennifer thought they were going sailing on the Hudson River for a planned birthday present from his parents. Little did she know, William would ask for her hand in marriage and have both families waiting at Battello in Jersey City to celebrate. Three postponements later, this duo finally had the wedding of their dreams at Nanina’s in the Park incorporating a soft color palette, a classic car, and modern calligraphy touches. Jennifer and William even incorporated their fur baby into their special day! Take a peek at the gallery captured through the lens of Keri Calabrese Photography below.

From the bride…Nanina’s ballroom is timeless, elegant, classy and all around beautiful. They have windows all around the room which allowed so much sunlight through and really let the chandeliers sparkle. That was one of the reasons we fell in love with their ballroom. Another thing that really reeled us in was the staff. We worked with Vicky from the first appointment until our last. She was always available to get in contact with, was always a breath of fresh air and you could tell she loved being at Nanina’s and that’s a good characteristic to have and a good selling point. She made us believe Nanina’s was the best (and they truly are the best).

“Our wedding day was definitely worth the wait and the BEST Monday.”

The bride’s bouquet consisted of playa blanca roses, quicksand roses, off-white spray roses, white ranunculus, and white lisianthus with a touch of eucalyptus. The stems were wrapped in ivory ribbon with a sapphire pin attached, gifted to Jennifer by her brother, which served as her “something blue.”

“I probably had the worst experience picking out a gown. I’m typically a picky person and usually hate dress shopping, so I knew this wasn’t going to go my way. I tried on a couple of dresses, and almost picked a completely different dress and designer before finding the dress I wore. I went to a Pronovias trunk show which is when I picked my dress. I was torn between two dresses; one my mom absolutely loved and the other one I liked better. So I obviously went with the one I liked best. Me being the most indecisive person, I cried that whole weekend thinking I picked the wrong dress. My now sister-in-law talked me off the ledge and told me to research the dress I picked to see how it looks on other brides who wore it and said that I’d probably feel better with my choice. I ended up feeling much better after that.”

Instead of traditional escort cards, Jennifer and William decided on a modern seating chart lettered by Lace and Belle. Guest names were listed alphabetically and created a statement during cocktail hour.

Jennifer and William incorporated their furbaby, Diamond, into their wedding day by setting up a biscuit bar. Dog treats were placed in paw print cellophane bags for guests to take home and share with their four-legged family members. A framed sign–designed by Lace and Belle–included a cute poem that read, “We love our dog as we’re sure you know, so please take a doggie bag for yours to go!”
