A MULTICULTURAL LAKESIDE WEDDING AT WINDOWS ON THE WATER FROGBRIDGE BY LINDSAY EILEEN PHOTOGRAPHY
Sue and Chris might have attended high school together, but they didn’t connect until 11 years later when he slid into Sue’s Instagram DM’s. “It was the first time we ever communicated and I remember feeling butterflies in my stomach like I did back in high school. Persistency was key as Chris asked me out three times on three different occasions before I had the courage to say ‘yes’,” Sue reminisced. The rest was history! As for their September wedding at Windows on the Water at Frogbridge? Well, the details were romantic and the florals by Bespoke Floral & Event Design were a dream! The ceremony took place outside with the lake and lush landscape as the backdrop, followed by a tented reception among the 86-acre property. See the gallery captured through the lens of Lindsay Eileen Photography below. We promise it’s a pretty one!
From Lindsay Eileen Photography…Chris supported Sue as she became a detective (so cool), and he will absolutely tell you that she is entirely the most amazing person he’s ever met. In his words: “Susie is one of the most selfless and caring people that I’ve ever met. She always goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone in her life is taken care of. She’s beautiful, she’s funny, she’s romantic and she’s always down for an adventure. Whether it’s going on a trip to a new place or making a late night Taco Bell run. She brings out the best in me and challenges me to be the best version of myself each and every day. She makes going through life so much more fun.” Sue wasn’t to be left out however, and provided us with some of the reasons she loves Chris so much: “Besides his good looks, charm, and loving personality, what I love most about Chris is his ability to always keep me balanced in life. Whenever I’m down, he’s always there to pick me up. Anytime I’m feeling anxious or stressed, he has a way to put me at ease. I admire his ability to always find the silver lining in any situation, even when it’s hard to see it. He truly is the ‘yin’ to my ‘yang’ in my everyday life. And it just so happens that Chris is a Libra, so it all makes sense!”
The first look was one of the moments Sue and Chris were most excited for. The groom’s reaction says it all!
During the tear-filled, hand-written vows they exchanged, Chris said that proposing to Sue was one of the easiest decisions he had ever made. In Sue’s words: “The world was on lockdown due to the pandemic. 2020 was a rough year for all of us. So Chris decided to start the year 2021 off the best way possible. After I graduated from the police academy, he decide to book a romantic trip in the Pocono mountains for NYE, just the two of us. We spent the weekend in this charming cabin with a beautiful view of the mountains. The morning of New Years day, we took a hike up to Big Pocono State Park. At the top of the mountain, overlooking New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, Chris got down on one knee and displayed the most gorgeous engagement ring. I totally blacked from excitement but I remember shouting out “YES!!”. It was the perfect way to ‘ring’ in the New Year.”
Nathan and I came into the picture as they began planning their dream wedding day at Windows on the Water at Frogbridge. Oddly enough, Sue & Chris are one of three of our couples that know each other through the NJ police force. I absolutely loved the chemistry they clearly shared, and during their engagement session on the beach/boardwalk at Wildwood, I got to know them just a little better. The wind was crazy, but they looked incredible and we had a wonderful time grabbing some really fun shots that are among some of my favorites to this day!
FUN was absolutely a priority on their wedding day, so not only did they have an incredible dance party reception planned, but at the end of the night they served rows of Happy Meals (Happily-ever-after-meals) to their family and friends. There was also a huge emphasis on family. Many of Sue’s family members came from overseas to attend her wedding, and they led the crowd in several dances that celebrated their unique and beautiful cultures. It was a great time for family members to reunite who hadn’t seen each other in quite some time due to restrictions imposed by the global pandemic.
