For ALL Couples Getting Married

Snow days call for snuggling up on the couch with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate all while swooning over pretty wedding inspiration. Anyone else taking advantage of their snow day by wedding planning? If you have the winter blues today, take a peek at this snowy winter Tennessee wedding below. Amanda May Photos certainly reminded us how beautiful wedding portraits in the snow can be. Not to mention, the deep plum color palette, the bride’s long-sleeved, lace Alfred Angelo gown and light-filled imagery is just so magical. See for yourself below.

From Amanda May Photos….Alysha and JP met in college at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. They both played basketball in college and their freshmen year they actually went out on a date. After that date, they didn’t reconnect until their Sophomore year that they accidentally bumped into each other on their way to the gym for practice. They talked and caught up for a few minutes and afterwards Alysha called her mom and asked if she could remember what happened with him? Why she never contacted him after their first date that last year? Her mom was at a loss and the next day JP reached out to Alysha to see if she wanted to go on another date. Alysha and JP got engaged over the Christmas season. We met at the first of January and they told me they really really wanted snowy engagement pictures. Alysha and I were living in Knoxville while JP finished up his schooling in Williamsburg. As much as we loved the idea of getting snowy engagement pictures, it was really going to have to work perfectly for it to snow while JP was either in Knoxville or able to get to Knoxville. Since Knoxville, TN doesn’t see much snow anyway, I kind of didn’t think it would happen. A few short weeks later, we got our last snow of the season and it just so happened to be on a Friday when JP was coming to Knoxville anyway. So we got them! Fast forward to their wedding day on January 7th and the only snow we’ve had all winter happened! Not only did it snow, but it also was sunny. Typically, in Tennessee it snows and then the sun comes out and melts it all away. But on their wedding day, the sun didn’t melt the snow, so it stayed a beautiful thick layer on the ground for all of their portraits! Then we also had the beautiful sunlight to work with as well!
