For ALL Couples Getting Married

A Country Club Something Blue Wedding Shower

It’s not every day we receive wedding shower submissions, so when this intimate occasion from Alexa Lynn Photography landed in our inbox, we just couldn’t wait to share the details. It’s classic, timeless, and filled with the sweetest details including a dessert table with not one, but TWO cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and personalized cookies, AND a donut wall! Plus, you just have to see how surprised this bride-to-be was. This wedding shower planned to perfection by Kathleen Deo Weddings is a lovely take on something blue and you can see it all below.

From Alexa Lynn Photography…Planned & designed by the talented team at Kathleen Deo Weddings, Kathleen and the bride’s mother, Marianne, worked hard behind the scenes to ensure Steph would be legitimately surprised at her bridal shower event. While the bride knew she was having one, her mother told a little white lie, saying hers was the following weekend and to make sure to show at another friend’s the week before (hers!).

Since not a lot of restaurants were open or just beginning to open during the planning process, Marianne and Kathleen decided on a country club venue in Kenilworth where they could rent a private room away from others – plus, overlook the breathtaking course. From the start, Marianne was drawn the to the “something blue” theme, playing off of the old adage “something borrowed, something new, something old and something new” for brides to wear on their wedding day.

Kathleen kept it classic and simple with floating candles, anemones, and all over pops of the soft blue hue, silver and complementary peach against the white base. To dress up the blank canvas of a space, Kathleen and her team created their own balloon wall by staggering white balloons at different levels – so easy, affordable AND chic!

A donut wall featuring Duck Donuts was set-up to incorporate Steph’s love of the sweet. And specialty cookies with her and Eric’s initials, plus tiny poodles (Steph loves dogs!) were also laid out for guests, alongside cakes and cake pops on the Dessert Bar – the focal point of the shower.

Safe to say the bride was certainly surprised. The following month, Steph and Eric married on May 22 at the Park Savoy Estate!
