Winter New York Wedding by Sarah Tew Photography – Contemporary Weddings Magazine
For ALL Couples Getting Married

When the bride is an architect and designer, you can guarantee her wedding day will be filled with details upon details upon details. From the industrial event space with exposed brick to the elegant florals, romantic candlelight, and modern Vera Wang bridal gown with open back, this formal New York winter wedding certainly does not disappoint. See more of Lauren’s inspiration behind her decor choices captured by Sarah Tew Photography below.

From the Bride…Josh would say “epic.” Lauren, on the other hand, will expound. I’m an architect and designer and my first priority was finding a space I could be inspired by. The Knockdown Center is an old door factory – producing the goods that I deal with on a daily basis, but from that history emerged a center for artistic expression and display, not to mention parties. The old warehouse, exposed brick, phenomenal trusses above and great team there made this place a no-brainer for us. Inspired by this space, we wanted to accent it, use it and take advantage of the unique scenes. Our event design is aimed to be “elegant simplicity” – mainly greenery, accented with white flowers, simply clustered or draped around moments of gathering – the chuppah, the dinner tables, the bar, etc. The floral is accented with sparkling lighting – in both candle form throughout, and hanging from the lofty ceilings. Our fashion choices are very New York in the winter – black and white and formal, with a gold sparkle for accent.

The wedding was amazing!! The bride was exquisite! “jewel-like portraits”. The groom would say it was “high quality”, and I agree! After all, he is my son.
Thank you to everyone who participated to make it the beautiful, memorable wedding of the “kentery”!!
